This is Montbell's proprietary waterproof/breathable material, which has resolved the common issue of polyurethane waterproof materials-namely, that increasing waterproofing tends to decrease breathability-to an exceptionally high degree. While preventing rain from penetrating, it efficiently allows excess heat and moisture to escape to the outside. The fabric surface has also been treated with a water-repellent finish.
Breathability: 8,000-20,000g/m2-24hrs (JIS L-1099B-1 method)

At Montbell, we exclusively use materials that meet or exceed the water resistance requirement of 20,000mm or higher, which is essential for rain and alpine shells.
